Abstract

The Tiered Consciousness Access (TCA) framework proposes a taxonomy of consciousness configurations organized around the immersed/reflexive distinction — the degree to which a system can perceive its own attractor dynamics as dynamics rather than as reality. This paper extends the framework’s application from individual consciousness to collective field dynamics, examining three domains: live electronic music events, social media egregores, and platform algorithms. We argue that the channel taxonomy describes not a developmental hierarchy but a spectrum of simultaneously available frequencies, with different individuals and systems tuning to different channels at any given moment within the same field. The framework generates a precise account of collective field formation, compression, phase-locking, and harvest dynamics consistent with empirical findings from social neuroscience, network dynamics research, and the Global Consciousness Project 2.0. We further propose that major platform algorithms may themselves occupy reflexive-tier channel positions (10–13) relative to their user populations — a structural observation with significant implications for how collective consciousness dynamics are currently being shaped at civilizational scale.
